A few of the more awake of you LowerFlat readers (it’s gone past the stage where we can just list names) noticed that not much had been said on the topic of Rich’s 23rd birthday. Well, there was a reason/excuse - and that’s quite simply that we were waiting for Courtsy’s photos to appear on the interwebby thing.

Anyway, let’s get to the point… Saturday the 16th September saw us head to the South East England Mecca that is Folkestone - although facts really should be faced and it should be realised that the vast majority of the more notable Folkestone residents are all actually moving to Portsmouth, which only goes to prove what a lovely place it is.

The evening started off at The Bell as we headed down to begin our journey into total obliteration. Many fine beers were consumed (along with a somewhat dodgy shot of Tequlia) before it occurred to us that we needed to sort out transport to the much famed ‘Le Parisien’… which for some reason has a completely different name on the doors. Courtsy, being the informed local he is, managed to order up the local “Disco Taxi” to collect us later in the evening. The drinking carried on, with many of the Waitrose tribe putting in an appearance, including Mikey who unfortunately couldn’t be convinced to come with us (for which we are still deciding whether to forgive him). There was a concering point in the evening when Jim went missing, although it wasn’t long before he was located sleeping on the bench by the Waitrose cash machine down the road and rudely awoken. Probably something to do with the bizzarre selection of beverages he was drinking…

Disco Taxi man arrived right on time, and entertained us on the way to the Pris with flashing lights and some mid-90s clubbing cheeeeeeeeeese… and that’s really where most memories end as the rest is an alcoholic blur. Although Phil may remember a little more as he arrived at the Pris stone cold sober after finishing work in London just over an hour before and driving down like a madman… They do say however that a picture paints a thousand words… and so you’ll find our form of dissertation here….

Also, as a quick note to Rich’s Dad who cooked us a much needed hangover breakfast… we ‘Ruv u rong time’ (Rich’ll explain that one…)
